We work to have a life, not the other way around. And when we work between vacations, instead of vacationing between work, weâre on the right track â Gary Keller
You know how they say time flies when youâre having fun?
Well⌠the last two weeks flew.
I just got back from a two-week sabbatical, and while Iâve been lucky to take some pretty amazing trips over the years, this one? It hit differently.
This time, I didnât feel that usual undertow of anxietyâthe kind that creeps in the moment you step away from your inbox. đŹđŹ
I didnât feel the pressure to squeeze every ounce of âproductivityâ from my time off. I didnât hustle to make it âworth it.â
Instead? I felt peace. Real, steady, quiet peace. And the moment that grounded me most? It wasnât a fancy dinner at a 2-Michelin-star restaurant, or hopping between beach clubs (side note: I didnât even know it was humanly possible to visit that many beach clubs in one day đ đ ).
It was laying in a park, doing absolutely nothing. â¤ď¸
Well⌠actually, we ended up falling asleep.
Nothing planned. Nothing pressing. Just sunshine âď¸, a soft breeze, and the freedom to breathe and be still.
That nap?It taught me a whole lot.
âĄď¸Â We donât need more noise.
âĄď¸Â We donât need more stuff.
âĄď¸Â We need more spaceâto breathe, to feel, to rest without guilt.
Because if Iâm being honest?
I used to live the exact opposite way.
Rushing from one thing to the next, counting down the minutes until my next âbreak,â but never really feeling like I got one.
Now? Iâm rethinking everything.
⨠What if rest wasnât something we had to earn?
⨠What if joy wasnât something we had to chase?
⨠What if peace was already waitingâif only weâd slow down enough to notice it?
So hereâs your gentle reminderâfrom someone still figuring out how to un-hustle her way through life: Youâre allowed to pause.
Youâre allowed to not fill every minute on your calendar.
Youâre allowed to rest without any explanation.
Because your peace?
It might just be the most important thing you protect this season.
Big hugs, deep breaths, and a gentle nudge to go find your own nap-in-the-park moment! đ
